Hi,

I wish to solve a multi-phase(air-water droplet) one way coupled problem(collection efficiency around airfoil) in SU2. The steps involving my problem are:

1. Solving the flow domain considering air as only fluid around airfoil with NSF.
2. Taking the solution(velocities) of air flow as initial condition, solving the flow domain with droplet with Euler Equation (without pressure) with some source term.

Let the velocity of air be Va (which is position dependent) and remains constant during droplet flow calculation.

Now the source term of the droplet equation involves some drag term which is a function of (Va-Vd). Vd being the droplet velocity.

/*---------------------------------------------------------------------------------*/

Now I am unable to figure out the following:

1. How can I initialize the air solution for droplet flow calculation?
2. How can I instruct SU2 that the air velocity as Va, because it will be needed in the drag calculation.
3. Can I solve Euler equation in SU2 with involving pressure.
4. How can I add source term.

Thank you so much.

Welcome! BSengupta,

Are you working on ICING ?

if I am not wrong, Chalmers uploaded OpenFOAM codes online which tackles all these issues. Check those it will be useful for your work

Yes I am in Icing. Thanks a lot.

One more thing I would like to know do you have any idea how to implement AMI in dbnsTurbFoam. I tried to implement in openFoam from pimpleDymFoam but I found it difficult. Can you give any clue about it?

If possible can you kindly provide the link of their code.

Thanks,
Bidesh
