Hi All,

I am experienced OF User, I was using OF from 2009 to 2014 for turbo machinery applications with OF-2.1.1. After that I did not use it for long time.
Still I have that old version installed in my machine.

Now I am back to OF to solve some heat transfer problem.

Actually my problem is that, I want to analyze flow over bank of tubes (In line and staggered).

I got confused, I know OF up to OF-2.3 it seems that version name is changed after OF-2.4, I dont know why? all of sudden they changed to OF -1606.

My question is:

1) which version of OF is good for heat transfer analyze? (I mean OF www.openfoam.com, openfoam.org (OFv6,OF-dev)), suggest me which OF release will be suitable for my application among all?

Please suggest me the suitable version, and solver capability and so on....

Thanks for your time and suggestion,

Sivakumar

Maybe see if the sticky thread can eliminate some of the confusion:
