I'm using OF 17 with a sprayFoam solver. Since I just want to simulate droplet and wall film interaction, I've switched off chemistry and combustion. Why am I still required to supply O2, N2, and most importantly, 3 CHEMKINFiles? The CHEMKin files cause a janaf error later on in the simulation and I would rather not have them involved.

If you use sutherland/janaf thermo, you'll need to supply the necessary coefficients. Off the top of my head I don't know when these are looped in to the solver, but it is most likely during the thermo creation (and subsequently used by chemistry, etc.). Now that I think about it, to have a mixture of gases you obviously need to supply the necessary boundary conditions, coefficients. So you can change the thermo to get rid of the error -- whether or not you need multiple species, etc for your purpose is up to you.
