Hello everyone!


This is my very first thread ever, so i'll do my best to declare my problem using interCondensatingEvaporatingFoam in OF v1806 / Windows 10 binary.


I just started using that solver some days ago, while something like a bug came up by setting the boolean "false" to "true" in "/constant/thermophysicalProperties.pDivU" to enable the pDivU term to be solved for the energy equation. At first I used the default tutorial case called condensatingVessel. Lokated in: $FOAM_TUTORIALS/multiphase/interCondensatingEvaporatingFoam/condensatingVessel

I attach the error-output to this thread.


To reproduce that error you just need to do as I said - enabling the pDivU term. After that you run blockMesh, followed by running interCondensatingEvaporatingFoam.

The error of sigFpe should show up immerdiately as you can see in the attached file.


There is hardly no information about that solver given by OpenFOAM. Only mentioned in release announcement:

Besides the documentation of OpenFOAM.com seems to be shutdown for months.



Does anyone have an idea about that problem? Or even fixed it?

Hi David,

Have you figured out the cause of the error? Also, have you found any more documentation on interCondensatingEvaporatingFoam ?

Currently, I am trying to invert the solver to account for evaporation (water - water vapour), hence any more information about the solver would be more than welcome.
