Dear CFDers,
I'm trying to simulate a nitrous oxide stripping process. The reactor is a circular tank with a circular diffuser placed in the reactor. Air is continuously added into the reactor and nitrous oxide will be removed from the liquid phase to the gas phase. The reactor itself is a lab-scale size with ID 0.17m and height 0.22m. I have conducted lab experiment in which the process takes about 30-40 minutes to remove 80-90%. However, in the CFD simulation, it only takes less than 20 second which is impossible. I tried to debug many days but I couldn't find out the reasons. I have attached the case file and I would really appreciate if someone can enlighten me what I have done wrongly. Also, I have implemented my Hibgie mass transfer. However I did try both Frossling and Hibgie, both gave me similar results which were unrealistic. |
