Hi All,
swirlFlowRateInletVelocity or cylindricalInletVelocity boundary condition for CPU Axial fan for an electronics cooling simulation ? I wish to generate swirling flow inlet without using Rotation zones in steady state simulation. |

Hi,
The cylindricalInletVelocity radial, axial and swirl components. The swirlInletVelocity only allows axial and swirl components. They both are uniform over the entire patch which may mean you introduce an error compared to the actual axial fan flow field. Regards, Tom |

Thanks tom, then what else is the best possible way to simulate without error?

Well it is always including more detail/physics, so for instance first to run steady-state including the fan (MRF zone), and maybe even run a dynamic mesh with the rotation, but it all depends on the level of detail required and the available resources.
