Hello,
I am looking for an experiment in order to implementate a CFD simulation in OpenFOAM using reactingParcelFilmFoam solver. The simulation has to combine wall film and spray models into a continuous phase of gas flow. Do you know where I could find an experiment like this? Thank you in advance. Vangelis |

Hi Vangelis,
I know that there are some experimental investigation of rain effect on airfoils and the reactingParcelFilmFoam solver can be applied to model the liquid film formation on the airfoil surface. Steph |

Hi Steph,
Thanks for your message. I am loooking for this, if you know a specific case or article please let me know. Currently, I found this case but I am also interested in airfols cases. Kind regards, Vangelis |

Hi Vangelis,
This is the application of reactingParcelFilmFoam on partially-wetted flow https://www.witpress.com/Secure/elib...PF11020FU1.pdf. So far, I have not found any application of reactingParcelFilmFoam on airfoil cases. I am also looking for that and hope you can inform me if you find anything. In literature, there are some experimental results about heavy rain on aerodynamic performance investigation, which are mostly done in 1980s and published in AIAA journal. A typical example http://arc.aiaa.org/doi/abs/10.2514/3.45476 Hope it helps, Steph |
