whitelotus21 is on a distinguished road
I am an openfoam beginner and I have to design a Abrams cone which is a cone with the top part cut, so the top radius is 50 mm and the bottom diameter is 100 mm and the height is 300 mm. And I have to mesh it. How do I go about this? How will this show on Paraview?

There are several possibilities for you:

  • use blockMesh
  • use a CAD system, draw it, export as STL and mesh with snappyHexMesh
  • use a CAD system, draw it, export as STEP and mesh with Salome
  • use a CAD system, draw it, export as STL and use whatever mesher you want if you can convert the generated mesh to OpenFOAM (check out the mesh conversion stuff in the UserGuide)
  • After converting, you can check the result in ParaView
If you don't know how to do anything, I recommend you to read the User-Guide. Good luck.
