Dear Foamers,
In the standard tutorial case of coalChemistryFoam in OF 2.3.1, we can find that the transonic is turned on. However, it is not reasonable for this test case because the flow is laminar here (i.e. the compressivity is low). What are the developers concerns for such a setting? Any one can give a comment? To test the effects of this setting, I did simulations of laminar triple flame (see attachment) and find that it makes little difference whether you turn on or off of the transonic entry. But I am sure there is a little quantitatively difference between the simulation results (e.g. peak value?) . Any comment is appreciated! Best regards, Xu |

My previous post regarding psiThermo and rhoThermo may help with this question.
