Hello CFDmans
As you know, We must set Several parameters in different files before the start of the simulation with OpenFOAM solvers (e.g. in constan, system folders). My question is about Rosin Rammler parameter d in SprayCloudProperties in sprayFoam solver. Does anyone knows what the parameter d defines and how we can set value for it? Code:
sizeDistribution { type RosinRammler; RosinRammlerDistribution { minValue 1e-06; maxValue 0.000120; d 0.000020;//what is this???? n 3; } } Saeed |

Hi Saeed,
I am dealing somehow with the same problem. d is the droplet diameter which has the highest probabality. Through which method do you get your data? Depending on number based or volume based particle size data your d can change. By the way how do you define n? is it always 3?? Cheers, Alex |

i don't understand really your answer. However, now when i want to simulate a simple hollow cone spray, what number i set to 'd'. i have no information about SMD and distribution before simulation and have information about injection pressure, orifice diameter, mass flow rate, injection time and .... (meantime n is experimental parameter, but based on past research [1] it is usually 3 to 3.5.) -------------------------- 1- Z. Han, S. Parrish, P. V. Farrell and R. D. I think you should define it based on the particle size distribution (PSD) diagram.
d is the droplet diameter that has the largest probability which will be the mode of your density distribution diagram . (following link, page 18) http://www.tfd.chalmers.se/~hani/kur...roject0122.pdf I hope it can help. |
