Hi OpenFoamers
I am new using OenFoam and I am looking for a simulation of a column filled with sand particles and air, then nitrogen is injected into de column. I did some simulations using DPMFoam and twoPhaseEulerFoam, but the problem with those solvers is that I can only stablish two phases, the fluid (nitrogen or air) and the sand particles. I also tried with mutiphaseInterFoam, but its useless, because all the phases are discrete and what I need is 2 discrete phases (the air and the solid particles mixed) and one continuous phase (the nitrogen) and also I cannot put particles in that solver. I searched on internet I did not find something like that. 1) Is there a solver that can help me out? In case that the answer is no: 2) Should I create a new solver? 3) Is there any university article or research article that could help me to establish the equations to develop the new solver? 4) Is there another way to do this simulation? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. Have a nice day. |

Hi,
You could check reactingParcelFoam, there you can have multispecies (air and nitrogen) and lagrangian particles/parcels. Regards, Tom |
