Daniel_Lensherr is on a distinguished road
Hello, I am a newie and I´m having some issues using the blockMesh utility for a 3D geometry.

Tne problem is that Openfoam states that there were 3 faces not found so it adds them to the defaultpatch.I would like to know which faces are these but once I display them on paraview they do not appear, in my opinion it is because they are bi-dimensional faces belonging to a triangle such as (2 3 3 2) or something like that, another reasons that leads me to this conclusion is that I have already found faces like (3 4 4 3) which if I hadn´t added them they would have been added to the defaultpatch, then containing more than 3 faces, but I am unable to find this last 3 undefined faces, so does anyone know how could I know which are the faces that OpenFoam defines on the defaultpatch ? by entering to any of the generated files for example

greetings and thanks in advance

Hi Daniel,

Have you tried displaying the faces with the wire frame view in stead of the surface view? This will probably help.

Also, if you connect information from constant/polyMesh/faces, constant/polyMesh/boundary and constant/polyMesh/points, you should be able to connect the dots. Just remember than OF starts indexing from 0, when you use the face information in the point list.

Kind regards,

Niels

P.S. It does sound weird with faces consisting of only two faces. Is it, because you are using the possibility of creating other structures than hex blocks?
