Does anyone made CFD - DEM coupling calculation of particles, mainly about the study of the particle which its size decrease in the water until it is completely dissolved
Could it be implemented using DEM method? |

Hi,
I know of similar approaches of Kuipers et al. They call their method Discrete Bubble Method (essentially a extended DEM (XDEM) with numerical models to take into account bubbly physics, in particular dissolution of CO2 in NaOH solution). Have a look here (in particular, this paper). AFAIK, however, this has never been implemented using the OpenFOAM framework though being perfectly possible, of course. I assume you are aware of its DEM features. Hope this helps. Holger

Hi!
Thank you for providing such information, I have never seen these papers before. These papers may give me some help! |
