You are a bit more experienced than I am, in any case, lol.
I'd suggest starting a new thread on this (with details on what you have already achieved), as this was more for a beginner setup. I know users linnemann and wyldckat, among others on this forum, are also experienced and could help you more than I can.

Hello, I am sorry to bother in this old tread but I want to know, Where can I find these files? The link seems down. I am starting to learn this, doing the propeller and windmotion tutorials as Boloar said. And now I want to see how it works in those files. Could you please tell where else I can find them?

Thank you Linnemann, I really appreaciated. I will continue my learning and gonna try to help others like you did with me.

I just have a question about it. With the last openFoam version (4 and above), Can I work with sliding meshes without a problem? I read that they disable the function, and so one has to install the "foam extend" in order to use it? What do you know about that? I am asking this because I find it really odd that I cannot find this information anywhere. I just find people telling that they use extend foam to do this kind of work. And if they use open foam, it is a previous version, like around open Foam 2.1.

Anyway, I tried to run your case with openFoam 4.1 and with the foam extend 4.0 but I couldn't, I think it is because it is from a previous version, so maybe the format is different in some files.

So far I've used the mixerVesselAMI2D and propeller tutorials to try and figure out the AMI stuff. I've got the mesh correct now, but I might be confusing myself with those turbulence models. Gonna look over the wingMotion tutorials again and make sure I'm following that model correctly. Wish me luck.

Thanks!
Hello Boloar,
I met the same problem as your and I doubted whether it was due to the AMI? because the min AMI for the target face is 0?Could you please tell me how you solved your problem?
p.s. in my case the two interfaces can not match completely with one larger than the another.

Hi Linneman

So I converted the old case which uses GGI to the version of OpenFOAM 1806 and I got it running but I see there are some 'strange' settings. I'm still fairly new to OF, so I'm curious why the settings are like this.
  • MaxCO=50
  • linear solver for pressure = PCG

So with this maxCo, the simulation wasn't stable after I converted it. Is there a reason why you've chosen it so large, and how do you keep it stable?
I read in most cases that GAMG is the best solver for your pressure. How come you took the PCG?

Hi dear linnemann.
I am a graduate student and I need to simulate a wind turbine in open foam to do my dissertation, thank you for your help in this regard.
