there are two meshing tools in OpenFOAM:
1) blockMesh
2)snappyHexMesh
also you can import your mesh from commercial meshing tool such as gambit
or free ones such as netgen or salome ....

They way I learnt is to run the Motorbike tutorial delivered with openFoam and then take it apart and gradually work out a bit at a time what's actually going on with each of the files controlling the thing.

This was not an easy task for me an easy to accomplish, so don't expect to have this sorted out in a day or two!

Hi,

I advice you to have a look at
http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/SnappyHexMesh
http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/GUI
there are two (soon three) commercial tools to streamline automotive meshing.
IconFoampro http://www.iconcfd.com/en/services/f...o-process-demo
elements
And Opensim by ESI (will soon appear) ftp://ftp.open-simulation.com/outgoing/OpenFOAM/Movies/

If you will not get the opportunity to use one of that automotive tools I would advice you to read
http://sourceforge.net/projects/open...s.tgz/download a training from one of the shm developers
