Dear All,
First of all thanks a lot in advance for any help that can be provided. I am currently using the porousSimpleFoam solver and I noticed that convergence of the porous region is quite slow. I tested a simple channel with a porous region (full height and width of the channel) and the results were satisfactory. On the other hand, when I use a "floating" porous block in free flow, I noticed that the convergence was very slow. The solver settings and mesh are the same as the case provided. Thanks a lot for any help that can be provided. Best wishes, Joćo Case: https://send.firefox.com/download/37...zx8QBDGflVsPqA Last edited by JoaoDMiranda; September 24, 2019 at 07:21. |

Hi Joao,
could it perhaps be that there is a general slow down in OpenFOAM as soon as you start using optional elements like porous media or rotating elements (MRF, ...)? Has anyone else experienced slow convergence when using optional elements combined with simplefoam (or other solvers)? Thanks! |
