Hi,
I was trying to validate the curvature estimation of openFoam by calculating the curvature around a cicular field which I call as "fs". Now, I observed that the estimation is not quite right at many points and moreover on reducing the grid size it seems that the L1,L2 & Linf norms are increasing. Please let me know if I am doing this the wrong way. |

Hello Abhishek,
Yes you are right, interFoam fails in validation test cases were surface tension effects are major such as static bubble. Mainly because it was a project solver designed for the analysis of ships, and naval structures which are big in size. And surface tension role is negligible in such cases. However, many researcher group have published an improvement in the solver like Raini et. al. and sankar's CLSVOF (chalmers group). These solver are also present as OpenSource. |
