Dear all,
I am using pimpleDyMFoam in OF-2.1.0 with rotating parts. My geometry is obtained from pointwise which gives me 5 files that I put in the constant/polyMesh directory. I modified some of the boundary conditions to be able to visualize the grid with paraFoam. Now that I execute the pimpleDyMFoam command, I receive the following errors at the fisrt time step : ------------------------------------------- Create mesh for time = 0 Selecting dynamicFvMesh solidBodyMotionFvMesh Selecting solid-body motion function rotatingMotion Applying solid body motion to cellZone bladesAndRotor #0 Foam::error:rintStack(Foam::Ostream&) in "/home/alpha/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-2.1.0/platforms/linux64GccDPOpt/lib/libOpenFOAM.so" #1 Foam::sigSegv::sigHandler(int) in "/home/alpha/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-2.1.0/platforms/linux64GccDPOpt/lib/libOpenFOAM.so" #2 in "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6" #3 Foam::solidBodyMotionFvMesh::solidBodyMotionFvMesh (Foam::IOobject const&) in "/home/alpha/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-2.1.0/platforms/linux64GccDPOpt/lib/libdynamicFvMesh.so" #4 Foam::dynamicFvMesh::addIOobjectConstructorToTable <Foam::solidBodyMotionFvMesh>::New(Foam::IOobjec t const&) in "/home/alpha/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-2.1.0/platforms/linux64GccDPOpt/lib/libdynamicFvMesh.so" #5 Foam::dynamicFvMesh::New(Foam::IOobject const&) in "/home/alpha/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-2.1.0/platforms/linux64GccDPOpt/lib/libdynamicFvMesh.so" #6 in "/home/alpha/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-2.1.0/platforms/linux64GccDPOpt/bin/pimpleDyMFoam" #7 __libc_start_main in "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6" #8 in "/home/alpha/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-2.1.0/platforms/linux64GccDPOpt/bin/pimpleDyMFoam" Segmentation fault ---------------------------- Have some already encountered this type of issue and/or is able to help me out? Thank you all for your time. My best regards. |

I've been trying to set up a case analogous to the propeller tutorial. I get a similar error.
I have used stl geometries and snappyHexMesh to generate the mesh. Except for some skewed cells checkMesh doesn't complain. |

I think I know what your problem is. See this post:
http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...tml#post437972 (you renamed your cellZone too as far as I can tell from the snippet you posted) |
