Hi there,
I know this topic is very famous and I heard also nice quote about it here . And i am asking for help not because I am lazy. Believe me, i read all the posts about topic. It's just I don't know too much about C++ to manage the right stuff! I am sorry to ask again but since the new release openfoam 2.1.0 has the "polynomial" boundary condition could anyone help me doing what follows...? I need to set a vector U=(a 0 0) with a=a_0*y^2+a_1*y as BC in the inlet of the "pitzdaily" case (everything is given in the function). Is there someone could give me the exact way to insert that in the 0/U file? I really appreciate your help in advance! ps: Later I will post the modified file for a future use! Hi
Download and install the swak4foam library of Bernard Gschaider: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Contrib/swak4Foam and look at the pulsedPitzDaily example. It show's exactly what you want. Regards Eelco |

Hi Eelc,
thank you very much! I am having a look at the files and I am waiting for the informatic staff will install them...but they seem to be what I need! I really appreciate, thank again! Now we are debating on it...do you know if does it exist a case with a "real" 3D mesh for the Pitzdaily case? One with a real thicknees in the spanwise direction... Anyway thank again you solved a very hard problem (I hope...) ! Regards and good luck! |

Hi all,
I'm looking for a way to assign spatial non uniform boundary condition at inlet, for example a parabolic velocity profile. Nevertheless, boundary conditions are steady in time. I have found this page with your comments, do you think the swak4foam library is what I need? And also if yes, is it possible to assign the velocity profile of any shape tabulated from a csv or any other kind of text file? Thank you for your help. Regards, Andrea |
