Hello,
Can any one help me in running simplefoam? Iam trying to simulate a diesel injector using simpleFoam and getting the following error. Starting time loop Time = 1e-07 DILUPBiCG: Solving for Ux, Initial residual = 1, Final residual = 0.0142123, No Iterations 2 DILUPBiCG: Solving for Uy, Initial residual = 1, Final residual = 0.0414204, No Iterations 1 DILUPBiCG: Solving for Uz, Initial residual = 1, Final residual = 0.0415188, No Iterations 1 --> FOAM FATAL ERROR: request for surfaceScalarField phiv from objectRegistry region0 failed available objects of type surfaceScalarField are 3 ( differenceFactors_ phi weightingFactors ) From function objectRegistry::lookupObject<Type>(const word&) const in file /appl/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.6.x/src/OpenFOAM/lnInclude/objectRegistryTemplates.C at line 140. hi mouvanal
i think simpleFoam is not the right solver to simulate a dieselInjection if you are looking for a steady particle tracking -> LTSReactingParcelFoam (openfoam 2.0) could be the right solver but there are not exact the same injection models like in dieselFoam or sprayFoam (openfoam 2.0) regards, Dima |

Hello Dima,
Thank you for you reply. I am using simpleFoam only to get the initial solution and the flow field. After that i want to run cavitating Foam. ..... Can you help on this error message....and how can i get waya with it. Regards Mouvanal |

ah ok, thought you tried to inject something by using simpleFoam
so i am new to openfoam too, and that error message deosn't tell me that much to figure out the error location did you some modification to any source code? EDIT: not "pressure p" -> phi would be solved in the next step so something might be wrong to that maybe you have changed the include statement for phi in the createField.H Last edited by dima; August 1, 2011 at 09:22. |

Can you tell me more about the problem. As far as i understood, you are trying to initialise P T U k epsilon values using simpleFoam. If possible upload your case file.
