Hi all, I'm facing problems solving a two inlet case, both in icoFoam and interFoam. The case is a vertical tube with an inlet at the top and another inlet at the wall of the tube near the top (between the red spot at right and blue zone), case is axisymmetric. Water enters the domain by the top at 5 m/seg and by the side at 0.5 m/seg, zero static pressure is set at the bottom (outlet). Running with icoFoam from start time to final time things goes well and figure p1 is obtained for pressure. Then if I restart the case only to do one more timestep things goes crazy like in figure p2. Same behavior appears using pressure fixed BC at the side. Using interFoam (which is my objective) with only one phase results are the same (both for U and p BC at the side).
I've checked the elbow tutorial for icoFoam and restarting works fine. That case has two inlets too.

Really I don't know where the problem is, all suggestions are welcome!

Regards.

Part of the answer is in thread:

http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...mulations.html

post #6, but plus erasing phi I erased all fields in last timestep but the original ones, in this case p and U.

I don't understand at all why this is the solution, I keep studying.

Regards.
