Hi Foamers,
I am trying to simulate air flow in an imaging based geometry using pimpleFoam and kEpsilon model. The driving force is pressure; I have a sinusoidal pressure wave at the inlet and all the outlets (114 outlets) are fixed at zero pressure. Since its a sinewave, there will be inflow at the outlets and outflow at the inlet after half the time period. I am using pressureInletOutletVelocity boundary condition for U. I have tried a number of combinations for the k and epsilon boundary conditions and also different interpolation schemes. When I used "turbulentIntensityKineticEnergyInlet" and "turbulentMixingLengthDissipationRateInlet" at the Inlet, the simulation crashed within three iterations, so probably that is not the correct for this problem. The best according to me is the zeroGradient condition at the outlets and fixedValue at the inlet for for both k and epsilon. But still, the simulation crashes after 1,000 iterations, I get the "bounding of k" and "bounding of epsilon" messages. I have attached the case folder. Any help or suggestions? Thanks in advance! Hi Foamers,
I was able to get the kOmegaSST going, but not kOmega or kEpsilon. Even with kOmegaSST, pressure convergence is a problem. Any suggestions? Thanks Last edited by skabilan; November 2, 2010 at 13:50. Reason: Change of status |
