Dear Martin,
Thank you for posting the example system files. They are very helpful! I ran simpleFoam using these files on two meshes. They are generated from the same volume image, but some parameters used in mesh generation are slightly different. They are both of poor quality, so I used the inputs you suggested for bad mesh. It runs successfully for test mesh 1, but failed on the other. The odd thing is that when I called 'checkMesh -allGeometry -allTopology', the first mesh failed two tests (high skewness and small determinant found), while the second mesh which would not run only failed one (small determinant found). So I guess I can not solely dependent on checkMesh to tell me the mesh quality. I wonder if you have any suggestions, or if there is some detailed explanations for each parameter in the system files. I would like to try and tune the numerical schemes first and make sure it is a mesh problem, before I totally give up the mesh. Thank you so much! I tried to attached the tar.gz files for the two test meshes, but failed as they are too big... Best, Hang |
