Hello Guys,

I am running OpenFOAM in parallel on a SGI Altix 4700 machine. To speed up my simulation a little bit I used 220 Cpus in parallel for a 2.2 Mio. cell mesh. May be this are a little bit to much Cpus and leads to communication overhead but its just a try.
But the important thing I noticed is, if I enable the averaging with the fieldAverage1() function in my controlDict the simulation is slowed down. I assume that the averaging isn't done in parallel? Did anybody observed a similar behavior? May be there is a better way to average such highly distributed jobs?

kind regards,

Fabian
