Dear Foamers,
I am trying to simulate the motion of a 2D cylinder under steady flow. The cylinder is connected to a damper and a spring. Bascially, it's a fluid-structure-interaction problem and 6DOF problem. The motion of the cylinder is affected by the drag and lift forces from the flow. I went through all the previous posts. They helped but seemed not direct answers. Also probably little bit outdated, and I am not sure their applicability to OF 1.6 either. Could any expert give some updated insight to this kind of simulation? By the way, As the first step, I tried to use oscillatingFixedValue to specify the cylinder motion cellMotionUx and pointMotionUx, but it gives an error message saying "Not Implemented". But oscillatingFixedValue is OK with regular boundary condition like U though. Any expert knows why? Thanks in advance for all your help. Philer |
