Hi to everyone!
Finally i created a simulation of a flow around a cylinder, and it's works fine!! The Von Karman vortex begins around 5 seconds, (as predicted by Strouhal number) However I would like to understand if the results are right. I've listened that, for conferming the results, a general way for LES model is to calculate the ratio between the total turbulent Kinetic energy, and the Subgrid Turbulent kinetic energy, and the value have to be between 0.8 and 1. I would like to calculate this ratio, but i don't know how to do it.. because from the simulation we obtain only the sGs Kinetic energy. The total K. E. = filtered K E + sGs K E. and the filtered K E= 0.5 (filtered velocity)i (filtered velocity)i so how to obtain filtered K E? how do i calculate these terms (inside paraview)? the mean value (p and U) are time averaged right? thx to everybody! |
