Running electrostaticFoam (v. 1.6.x updated today) on the chargedWire tutorial poses no problems. When, however, the electric potential is reversed (for example by setting phi = -45000 and (in order to keep the problem physically correct) rho = -3.75e-5 at 'hole'), the solution diverges rapidly.
I expected the solution to be similar in both cases. Am I misunderstanding the physics behind this, or is this a numerical problem? Thank you for your time. Best regards, Sylvester |
