Hello,

I've been testing LES/DES models using the central differencing scheme for the convective term of the momentum equation, on some test-cases in which the flow encounters a bluff body (square cylinder; ribs in a channel). Despite adopting configurations and grids very similar to the ones employed in some works present in literature, the simulations I've been running suffer from the well-known problem of Checkerboarding, that presents itself in the velocity field (it persists even averaging in time) but not in the pressure field.
This frequent presence of checkerboarding is quite strange, considering that the central scheme employs the interpolation of Rie&Chow, which is just meant to avoid the problem.
I'd like to know if any of you has experienced such difficulties in using the central difference scheme in OF.

Thank you very much,

Matteo
