Hi all,
From literature, the chemical time scale for auto-ignition in diesel engines is around 1e-9, but setting the physical time step in dieselEngineFoam to this range is very time consuming for the 3-D simulation. Therefore if larger physical time step such as 0.5 CAD equivalent to 5.2e-5 s (where the crank speed is 1600rpm) is set. Will this give significant difference in predicting the ignition delay period? Thanks in advance. Arun |
