I do my job on a cluster of machines and I use LAM. It need a file 'machines'. The first line of this file is the machine I logged in. But the first machine of my cluster is always busy and the CPU rate of the first machine is low.

How to solve this problem?

Since your working directory and the Foam installation have to be visible from all the machines, you can just log into one of the cluster nodes and start the job from there.

If this is a problem because of some batch queing system like pbs, you should submit the job via this system. I can provide an example script for pbs if required.
