Dear Dr. Henry Weller

1.
I am studying flow over a hydrofoil. From looking at the interFoam results i got the feeling that the solver does not solve the viscous terms ( for example i was not able to see the wake behind the hydrofoil ) . Is this correct ?

2. How difficult is combining say interFoam & simpleFoam solvers ( I am new to OpenFOAM)

Thanks a lot

Best regards

Kumar

Hello all ,

1.
I have a suggestion for combining the interFoam and turbFoam . Took a look at the "UEqn.H" in the interFoam solver . noticed that the term for turbulence is absent. i was wondering if this term could be added - as in turbFoam.

2. If the modification is indeed possible , then what happens to the
solve(UEqn == -fvc::grad(p) ? Is this term simply taken care by the following in UEqn.H

if (momentumPredictor)
{
solve
(
UEqn
.............
..............

);
}

Can Dr. Henry Weller or anyone else please please give some inputs ?

Thanks a lot

Hello Kumar

I think that what you're trying to do is already provided in OpenFoam, i.e. rasInterFoam. It is based on a PISO pressure-velocity coupling algorithm. You can try if you wish to change to it SIMPLE.
