I have created a transient solver for my simulations. Its a derivative of the buoyantFOAM. Will it be worthwile to create a steady-state version of the same. I am talking in termas of computational time usage. The flow I am trying to simulate is of hot gas exiting into atmosphere.

Often buoyant flows have to be solved in transient annyway, even if a steady-state solution exists. Steady-state calculations are difficult to converge. So in this particular case, maybe it's not worth the time.
