To get a more accurate drag prediction I want to specify the location where the flow transitions from laminar to turbulent (using simpleFoam).
I have seen a number of posts asking for this specific feature. Has anybody tried this before? If I have to do this myself how would you recommend me to do this? I was thinking about creating zones, each using a different turbulence model. In the laminar zone I would use either the standard laminar turbulence model, or create a modified turbulence model with all production terms set to zero. Would this be a good method of doing this? Any help is highly appreciated. Best regards, Sylvester |

Have you found a solution?
Can you tell me how you realized using different turbulence models in one mesh as the case may be? Best regards Chris |
