Hi
I am trying to understand the turbulence models used by sonicTurbFoam I found this wikipedia link for compressible turbulence and would like to know, why some terms are dropped in sonicTurbFoam. http://www.cfd-online.com/Wiki/Favre_averaged_Navier-Stokes_equations#Closed_app roximated_equations Right at the bottom, eqns 30-32 give the final expressions after averaging. In sonicTurbFoam , for the energy equation, i find the term fvm::laplacian(turbulence->alphaEff(), h) What is alphaEff, does it account for the workdone by turbulent stresses on the surface and the turbulent heat transfer? Thanks Srinath |
