Hello

I have just started using OpenFOAM. Before i use it for research, it would be necessary to benchmark the solvers.
I was wondering if anyone has benchmarked the various solvers? Then i could run those tests that haven't been carried out.
It would be useful to compile the various test cases, for easy reference by everyone.

Thanks
Srinath

Hi Srinath!

What do you mean with "the various solvers"?

- Different OF-solvers
- OF compared with other CFD-codes

Hi Bernhard

I am interested in comparing the compressible/incompressible and reactive flow OF solvers against AGARD standards or against these test cases,
http://www.lerc.nasa.gov/WWW/wind/valid/archive.html
If you can suggest other validation cases, i am open to that too.

I would like to start with single phase flows.

Hi Srinath,

I am interested if/how you went comparing OF to the AGARD standards ? I am interested in the C-series standards (transonic fully-immersed axisymetric bodies) and would be interested in seeing the comparison, or perhaps undertaking this myself down the track, unless someone has covered these already.

Regards
Richard Samuel

Hi Richard

I haven't done any tests with the AGARD standards. Most of my tests have used the solver centralFoam, and benchmarks were from
http://www.lerc.nasa.gov/WWW/wind/valid/archive.html

But i would be interested, in the AGARD cases.

Regards
Srinath
