Hi all!
I am trying to build a solver for simulating the flow inside closed room. i guess, i have to use an incompressible flow solver, with turbulence enabled.(steady or unsteady). Somebody, please suggest me a solver on which i can build my problem specific solver. cheers!! |

Hi Cruiser,
If your problem is isothermal, then simpleFoam is what you need. Regards, Paulo Rocha |

Hi,
you also can use bouyantSimpleFoam or with radiation: bouyantSimpleRadiationFoam. I got many good experience with both solvers. Bye Tian

Hi!
Thanks for the replies! surely, my problem is isothermal. but i am afraid, the compressible solver may take longer to converge,if i use buoyantSimpleFoam. there is no radiation either in the problem. should i build a solver from turbFoam? |

Hello Cruiser
Looking at what the buoyantSimpleFoam tutorials, it seems like a good solver for your case. If you run the tutorial hotRoom or hotBox, it will converge in short time (few minutes on standard workstation/PC). If you have already managed to run the simulation, I would like to know the paramters you used. I am having trouble running a similar ventilation case. Its not converging. Kindly help if you can. :Rishi |
