etaP = G*lambda = given in the table etaS = solvent viscosity, you don't need that for a melt (the data in the table is for an LDPE melt). If you still need some value, you could try zero or some very small value. Everything else you need is given in the table, it seems. Good luck, Sita |

Hi, Sita:
The parameters which can get like you say are important to me, too. Thank you for your explain in details. salame Quote:

i am interested in the viscoelasticFluid. But i feel uncerain about the N1, PSD and so on. ( N1=σ11-σ22) .
Like: If the N1 is greater , is that means the elastic characteristic of the poly melt powerfuler? Can someone help me clearly know the question? Or recommand any books or journals about these issues. Best regards! |

I think the viscoelasticInterFoam solver is not available for everyone yet. Last thing I heard was that Jovani was still working on it. Maybe you could contact him personally? Best, Sita |

There are four modes for the default PTT-Exponential. If only one mode is concerned, how to disable the rest higher modes?

hi
I solved a problem for Newtonian and decided to compared it with viscoelastic so I need similar properties such as viscosity and density. in other hand B.Cs for P are cyclic. is nu(newtonian.icoFoam)=(etaS+etaP)/rho(visco.) ? I think , these are not equal !!! whats your idea ? |

In viscoelastic fluid, the summation of solvent and polymer viscisity is total viscosity that should be concider to calculate Re Number. in netonian case, lambda should be near to zero. I suggest to set 10e-08 for this . Best |

I want to know too , what should be I do for modeling a fluid properties that applied in icoFoam by viscoelasticfluidfoam .(specially about density nu(newtonian.icoFoam)=(etaS+etaP)/rho(visco.) !!!) |

Hi again i hopethat get your mean correctly, ENSHA ALLA nu is kinematic viscosity, divided solvent viscosity to density. Note! polymer viscosity should be considered zero in Newtonian case. Best |

1) icoFoam results and viscoelasticfluidfoam are different at a unique fluid. and do the difference refer to density role?( I vanished polymer effect in my case by decreasing lambda and other viscoelastic properties) 2) and how do I fix it? 3) I need nu for icofoam and eta , rho for viscoelastic solver (eta/rho = nu *true/false*?) . 4) (if #3 is false) is there a utilities that can present density of a case solved by icoFoam ? thanks again and good luck. |
