CarlosMH is on a distinguished road
Hello everyone,

I have successfully run the motorBike LES tutorial using the provided files on OpenFOAM v12. Recently, I attempted to use a new geometry for the same simulation but encountered issues preventing the completion of the run. This new geometry has been validated by running it successfully on the motorBikeSteady tutorial.

Here’s a summary of what I’ve done and the problem details:

Software and version: OpenFOAM v12 and OpenFOAM v8 using blueCFD.

Computer: Windows 11, Core i7-11800H (8 cores), 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050

Simulation type: LES (Large Eddy Simulation)

Tutorial followed: motorBike with LES

Issue encountered:

The simulation fails to produce results with the new geometry. I tried several approaches:

Sometimes, while running the steady part, I can see my geometry but no solution folder is created.

Other runs produce result folders, but not my geometry.

I run the cases using modified allrun files and also by manually giving the commands. The modification involves calling the geometry and copying it into the constant folder.

I am also running the case based on this tutorial: https://www.xsim.info/articles/OpenF...motorBike.html

The same geometry works perfectly with the motorBikeSteady tutorial, indicating that the geometry itself isn't the problem.

Steps taken to resolve:

Verified the setup using the provided tutorial files.

Cross-checked the geometry in the motorBikeSteady tutorial, confirming it works.

Searched for similar issues on the forum but found no solutions addressing this specific issue.

I would greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions from the community on how to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,

CarlosMH
