Hi Foamers,
I have found that OpenFOAM can handle meshes with a singularity at the center of a cylinder(Attachment). It appears that this type of mesh contains a singularity at the pole. Could anyone explain how OpenFOAM handles such meshes? Thanks, Hywoo |

By "singularity", I assume you are referring to the fact that all a large number of cells share a common vertex on the centreline of the cylinder? (it's not a common use of the term singularity, but I guess I can see what you mean).
As for OpenFOAM - it simply doesn't care. The FV cells communicate with each other through their shared faces ... and don't care about their vertices. Hope that helps. |
