I have been looking into lagrangian models present in OpenFOAM-12 (foundation). The atomisation models present are quite well made. I started with the blobsSheetAtomisation model. The setup is quite intuitive and the documentation done is impressive.
The SAE paper from 2002 (Allocca, Luigi & Bella, Gino & Vita, A & Angelo, Luca. (2002). Experimental Validation of a GDI Spray Model. SAE Technical Papers. 10.4271/2002-01-1137. ) gives insights into how this model is implemented, and the inputs that need to be given for Gasoline spray. I went through the paper and the constant 'B' that is taken for calculating the Breakup Length is calculated to be equal to 45. However, my question here is, is this constant only valid for Gasoline sprays? Or can I extend this to Diesel sprays as well? If any user has experience with this, please give insights into this model. |
