I'm running a CFD simulation for an urban area using the simpleFoam solver and the standard k-epsilon turbulence model.

To check the simulation settings, I ran the simulation with an empty domain to verify the Horizontal Homogeneity of the Atmospheric Boundary Layer (HHABL).

After the simulation was completed, I used ParaView to check the results. I found that the inlet profiles differed from the downstream/incident wind profiles. Additionally, the velocity I had inputted for the ABL setting (Uref at Href = 15 m) is different from the simulation results.

Please see the attached figure. There is flow in the upstream region that affects the wind profile downstream and the wind velocity at specific heights.

Is there any solution to this? Should I use a different solver type, or is there something I have missed?
