gimson is on a distinguished road
I enabled solverInfo in my simulation to write the initial residual fields to find out the locations with high p_rgh residuals because I was getting 0.05 residuals in the log.

However, when I opened the initialresidual_p_rgh field in paraview to threshold the cells that have high residuals, I find that the upper and lower thresholds of the initialresidual_p_rgh field only ranged from -0.01 to +0.01, nowhere near the 0.05. And getting the inverted threshold of the locations that are outside of -0.001 to +0.001, it's estimated to be less than 5% of the total cells.

If I were to sum the residuals in every cell, I would definitely exceed 0.05. I looked at the openfoam residual calculation https://www.openfoam.com/documentati...residuals.html but it doesn't seem as straightforward

Is the discrepancy in the field and log values caused by the normalisation factor?

Is the residual field already normalised?

Which residual value does the openfoam log the output log?
