i am running a simulation of interfoam solver it would have 30 seconds time but dont know the reason why its getting stopped at 2 seconds.

Hello,
You seem to have a floating point exception error. So you divide by zero somewhere when the solver runs. The first step would be to check your case properly and also boundary conditions. Thanks |

Hello,
I do not have a straight answer as to why your case crashes. However, after having taken look at your case, I can suggest the following 1) Decrease the maximum Courant number to 0.5 (even 0.1 to just check) 2) Increase number of outercorr to 3 and check (increase further if needed) 3) Increase number of nAlphaSubCycles 4) If none of the above work, then try to lower your inlet velocity and then see if the crash happens. If it crashes, try steps 1-3 for the low velocity case. If it doesn't crash for low velocity cases then we can try to suggest some modifications in fvSchemes which can be the problem for this issue. I don't know what exact problem you are simulating, but be careful with the outlet, try to keep it far away from regions of high gradients if possible. I see that you use inletOutlet or pressureInletOutletVelocity at outlet which is good. Try to visualize the flow field in Paraview just before it crashes. Then check if there is something weird (anything non-physical) going on. I would suspect the pressure/velocity field, as your solver crashed after computing phase fractions and before the pressure equation. Thanks |
