I would like to set up a reaction simulation of 2 gases in the presence of a solid catalyst.

Literature tells me that the speed of the reaction is influenced by the surface area of the catalyst, ie its surface finish.

How do I account for the surface finish of the catalyst in my simulation ?

What solvers should I be considering for this simulation ?

Thanks
