Hello everyone,
I am simulating a large, bubbly, multiphase flow that consist a large amount of bubbles having a size distribution of 0.5 mm to 7 mm. If I want to use VOF method, I need very fine mesh size to be able to capture small size bubbles, but since my geometry is very large, that doesn't let my simulation finish in a reasonable time. Therefore, I want to use an Eulerian-Lagrangian solver like DPMFoam or MPPICFoam, so that I don't have to use unnecessary fine mesh. I used MPPICFoam for that, but the problem is I get unrealistic velocity values at where particles are located at. I read here DPMFoam vs. MPPICFoam and general kinematicCloud questions that the limitation of MPPICFoam is that the partilce size must be 3 or more times smaller than mesh elements. Ome of my bubbles have the same size or 2 times the size of each element. I was wondering if there is another method or solver that let me inject large particles relative to the mesh element size. |
