Hi all,

I am using WALE LES to investigate a partially porous airfoil with periodic boundary conditions in the spanwise direction. To reduce computational time and to confirm y+ near the walls, I am using k-w SST model to initialize the solution.

My y+ is mostly less than 1 (there are a few difficult cells with y+~1.5 in regions that are not as important for flow separation), however I am curious on whether this is sufficient to claim that the mesh will produce an accurate simulation. In the literature for similar papers, I found that they verified their mesh by repeating their simulation with a slightly higher and lower y+ up till some non-dimensional time. Unfortunately, this is not possible for me as it would take too long, and resources needs to be diverted to other simulations.

So my question is, what is the best way to show that my y+ is good enough for my LES simulation?

Thanks for your help,
Marcus
