Dear all,
I'm relatively new to OpenFoam so please forgive me if my question seems convoluted. I'm running a flood model using a large mesh of a high-mountain landscape (my mesh is over 500MB in total). I have prepared a breach in the dam of a lake through which the water flows. Interfoam runs fine simulating the outflow of my lake, however, I now want to simulate a more detailed dam breach instead of just letting the water flow through the prepared breach in the dam morphology. I thought of creating the dam as a second mesh and then morphing this mesh to first have a small outlet breach, which then grows larger with time. However, this seems beyond my capabilities. So I thought I could create the dam mesh to cover the dam breach, and then just move this mesh gradually downward, until the whole breach is exposed. In theory, this should have a similar effect - a continually increasing water flow through the breach. My question is now: Is it possible to insert a second rectangular mesh and to move it a certain distance in a certain time using moving mesh? Are there examples to look at? Or could someone help me implement it? Thanks a lot! |
