Hi all,
I am relatively new to CFD and this is my first post. I am trying to simulate a 3D analysis of the airflow inside an oven chamber. My first step is to just consider flow with a steady analysis and hence, I am using simpleFoam solver with the k-omegaSST turbulence model with wall functions. My first few solves included a coarser mesh, and residuals weren't showing any abnormal behaviour. However upon increasing grid density, my residual plots for k and omega experience some weird behaviour (see attached image). My k and omega files are also attached for inspection, as well as fvSolution and fvSchemes. My yPlus was calculated to be between 0.4 and 200 for this particular case, and the areas affected are in the regions where yPlus is very low. Currently I am trying to use snappyHexMesh to control the cell thicknesses at the walls to be larger (still learning how to use this tool also!), incase this is the underlying issue. Any insight into the root of the behaviour is much appreciated, and please forgive my ignorance. There is much more to learn! If you need more info please let me know!! Cheers |
