Hi,

I'm trying to simulate a 2D flow past airfoil. The grid is generated by SHM, as attached. Grid size is about 0.9M.

The solver used is pimpleFoam and Re tested are 100 - 10000. The forces reached a reasonable steady state after a while.

However, there are discontinuties in the velocity contours when the grid changes from coarse to fine, as shown.

I have simulated different grids using SHM but I'm not sure why this happens. I tried to increase the grid resolution but the problem is still there.

Can someone enlighten me?
