Boundary conditions in cavitating flow

Dear All,
I try to simulate the cavitation in centrifugal pump with OpenFOAM 8. First I take the conventional pump model. I did simulations with simpleFoam and pimpleFoam solvers with MRF. In these runs I used the boundary conditions: 0/U inlet flowRateInletVelocity outlet zeroGradient 0/p inlet type zeroGradient outlet fixedValue (0) Performance with both methods are close and look reasonable. Now I try to run the simulation with interPhaseChangeFoam solver. I tried the same settings for velocity. For p_rgh instead of p I used different variants. For instance: inlet type zeroGradient outlet totalPressure (2 bar) or fixedValue (2 bar). I also tried zeroGradient at the outlet and totalPressure at the inlet. It works well for speed. But for pressure I have the outlet pressure lower than inlet one. So it works not like the pump, but as the hydraulic resistance. But the same value of flow rate for simpleFoam and pimpleFoam gave good results. Please help me to solve this issue. Is there any idea what is wrong in my settings? What should I do to get the proper result? Best regards, SV |
